Oracle ARCS Cloud July 2025 Update: Longer Bank Texts for BAI Format Files
Published: Friday, July 18, 2025
Oracle Account Reconciliation Cloud Service (ARCS) rolled out a focused but powerful enhancement in its July 2025 release: support for longer transaction descriptions in BAI format bank files. Here’s what’s new, why it matters, and how your reconciliation process stands to benefit.
Unlocking More Detailed Bank Transactions
Key Update:
When uploading bank transactions using the BAI file format, the Bank Text field can now accommodate up to 1,200 characters. Previously, the field was limited, often causing vital details to be truncated or lost.
To handle these longer descriptions, Oracle has introduced three new fields—Bank Text2, Bank Text3, and Bank Text4. The system will automatically distribute lengthy transaction information across these columns:
- Bank Text: First 300 characters
- Bank Text2: Next 300 characters
- Bank Text3: Next 300 characters
- Bank Text4: Remaining up to 1,200 characters
For instance, if your transaction description is 850 characters long, it will be stored across the first three columns, ensuring no data is lost.
Why This Matters
With this enhancement, organizations can import and process transactions with much richer detail. For teams managing complex accounts or reconciling high-volume bank activity, having full descriptions makes it easier to:
- Investigate variances and exceptions efficiently
- Leverage clear context when matching transactions
- Comply with reporting and documentation requirements
- Reduce follow-up with banks or internal teams for incomplete transaction info.
